People are still texting and driving....

and the City of Fredericton want the cyclist on the streets and not the sidewalks???

People are still drinking & driving too. People are still not wearing a seat belt. People don't think it will happen to them. Since the law changed, i see many more people texting at red lights than when they are driving...

I would like to know if there is anything that can be done. These people are putting my life and the life of my partner and our children at risk. I am getting frustrated I continually witness people texting and driving. I just witnessed a taxi cab driver texting while passing by my office window. On the way to the city this morning there was a young man in a Ford Escape. His eyes were off the road for 7 seconds. How far does a car travel at 110 km in 7 seconds. My partner was driving so I counted the seconds that this man's head was looking down. I also saw the phone. He was using an iphone. Do you have any suggestions on what an average citizen can do? I even purchase a large SUV with one of the best safety rating I could get because I feel I have to protect my family the best I can from the other drivers on the road that choose to be so wreckless.
