Twenty-eight members of citizen-based groups from all across New Brunswick came together for a press conference in Fredericton today, presenting a united front in it's opposition to the shale gas industry in the province. Calling itself A Network Against Shale Gas, the loosely-knit organization wants the government to ban shale gas exploration in New Brunswick.

Representing English, French, Maliseet and Mi'kmak people from all walks of life and vocations in the province, the network has no direct leadership, preferring to govern itself by consensus through representation from the smaller citizen groups.

Opening remarks at the press conference were made by Peter DeMarsh, a member of the Taymouth Community Association. DeMarsh defined the group's raison d'etre as a mechanism to educate and protect the population, while at the same time act as a voice for democracy in representing the wishes of the citizenry that have so far gone unheeded by the government.

"Sadly, on the issue of shale gas, good governance has been in short supply. And so we are left to our own devices to both educate ourselves and take what peaceful actions we can to protect our rights, lives and the province we love," he said.

Seven speakers from the network gave presentations at the press conference outlining the group's concerns, ranging from health and safety, pollution and infrastructure damage, to economics and sustainability. The First Nations perspective was also represented with emphasis on saving fresh water from contamination by industry.

Calling it a 'public engagement' campaign to furnish the facts to the public, the presentations used scientific evidence and first hand experiences to outline the group's concerns it says have gone unaddressed or ignored by government.

"The government and industry have called for open debate, but have yet to participate in one. We stand ready to do so," said DeMarsh.

Citizen hit and killed by vehicle at the corner of Brunswick and York Street in Fredericton?

Just happened 40 minutes ago....not sure if he died.....stay tuned!!!

I guess the guy who got hit isn't doing well and he was Jaywalking!!!

The Driver wasn't at fault!!!

ANOTHER SAD UPDATE!!!!

ANOTHER UPDATE!!!

I was going to write a blog on this issue but I might as well post my story in here!!!

I returned to the scene and a woman recognized me near the Truck that hit the citizen.

It was a female and it was her husband that was the driver.

She told me the whole story.

Minutes later, an undercover Cop showed up.

He told the couple that they could go home.

They asked the officer- Can we go at the hospital and visit the guy they hit with their truck.

The cop replied in a professional manner - That wouldn't be a good idea because in most case the family of the person who gets by a vehicle blames the driver.

He assured the couple that he will call them at home when he finds out more details.

That was that!!!

The Fredericton Police Officer acted like a true professional!!!

Anti shale Protesteres unites into the - NETWORK AGAINST SHALE GAS!!!

The conference was way toooo long .......

My nerves are shot!!!








The Press Conference started at 10:am and was still going on at 11:30am!!!





This ADHD Blogger left the area for 45 minutes. Way too long!!!!


These journalists are paid to listen to the citizens concerns but not this Blogger!!

Interesting because the Fredericton Police decided to support a Fascist against the Less fortunate in Fredericton!!!

Things could could very ugly because The Police supported Fascist Sergeant At Arms Dan Bussieres that he can assault New Brunswickers!!!

Homeless Has A Name!!!




I was told a few weeks ago that this guy would be coming to Fredericton while going across Canada.

I never heard of him so therfore I became a little suspicious when I was told that he would be staying at the Delta during his stay in the Capital.

I guess he used to be a Millionaire and lives in California.

They told me Mark Horvath would be at the Kitchen at 11:30am!

Sure enough!!! He was there!





Andy Campbell interviewed the guy so this time it was Global Maritimes turn!!

Many of the homeless people around this City would gather around the new guy in the City.





Mark went around to meet people in the area.





He also attracted a few Activists from the area.





Why not enjoy a nice meatloaf from the Fredericton Soup Kitchen???





Mark decided to buy some new clothes at Wal-Mart for one of the homeless in the City.
