"Hows your nerves"?
"Whats it like..?"

Who are you, Barbara Walters? I was waiting for "what kind of tree would you be..."

Come on, if you go to your youtube they have a list of other youtubes, like one with the ontario minister of education, you should really watch it.

You basically asked the government "hey, give me your party line". You really didn't add any more to the dialogue than people can get from the communications office.

Here's what people should want to know?

1. What kind of efficiencies were found to save 10 million dollars?

2. One administrator claimed the cutbacks could not happen without affecting student education, what is your response?

3. There are 14 offices, how much money is spent on administration positions in each of those districts? That would be everyone apart from teachers and principals.

4. How much of the Department of Education's budget is actually spent on schools, and how much is spent by the department in Fredericton to oversee the schools?

5. How many schools right now have fewer than 100 people?

6. In light of Mr. Higgs budget documents, which show that the only population growth of the province is in Moncton and Fredericton, how do the class sizes vary across the districts?

7. Are there any plans to re-organize rural areas that are seeing population declines?

8. How much duplication of services do you see between the english and french districting? (to satisfy a small crowd:)

9. Given that there are about 150,000 school aged children, that equals $6600 per student. Do you think that is money well spent? SHould it be lower or higher?

10. What moves have you made to bring more local governance to the education file? Lamrock famously asked for more input from parents, then cut them off...are you willing to look at school board trustee elections again?

11. Given that you don't speak french, how well equipped do you feel you are to address the needs of the francophone school board or even immersion issues?

12. What ultimately happened to all those netbooks? Where were they sent, and what use were they put to?

That's just off the top of my head, come on Charles, we know that so far you are in love with Alward, but people support you for a reason, and its not to be a cheerleader for the government.

PS Don't sit so close, we don't need to see the nose hairs.

lol.....I never bring questions on a piece of paper at these interviews...

I might add that was Part one!!!!

Others to come...stay tuned...

Mikel, you are right on on this one. Ask questions to make them think and to let listeners/readers know that he knows his portfolio. They are alsways so prepped when they go into "formal" interviews. Youcould have got him right there with these questions because he wouldn't be expecting them.

That is why they let you interview them, it's not challenging - just entertaining...

Why don't you clowns wait to listen to the rest of the youtubes???

:P

But I will admit that you are right on with this one!!!

The bureaucrats do tell the Minister what to do or say????

Why would you say that Mike????

I saw some people who went after the Premier on the very first day he got elected.

I'm giving them the time to prove themselves...

What's wrong with that???

Please! Be careful, or mikels touretts will kick in!

Alward and Carr are not new to the game. Take the list with you and an extra battery. Also ask the name of the bureaucrat or crat's he answers to and see if you can get an interview with one of them.

More importantly Charles, is why you'd cut that out of the comment? I take heat here, so can you. I didn't see anybody go after him on the first day, I did see people go after him on the first week, when NB's problems seemed so insignificant that almost his first act (after appointing some friends) was to head to Switzerland.

Journalism is not there to 'give government a chance'. None of this is 'personal', but when a Premier makes a bonehead move, you call them a bonehead (there's my tourettes acting up). You play pretty hardball with the RCMP, I don't see any reason why you need to softball questions for this government. Aren't you a member of the liberal party?:)

Your personal opinion is fine, but thats why critics have critics. You are MAYBE right that we should wait for part two, but thats a criticism of part one, a different one would be for part two.

If you really want to be a blogger for the people, you could maybe mention that you are doing interviews with X, then ask readers to post their questions. It would be MUCH harder for politicians to refuse, although its true they might start doing so if you really started asking tough questions, thats why Harper and Bush replaced or avoided most of the press gallery.

Just today over at CBC they are talking about education, and in that story they say that Jody Carr "doesn't have time to do an interview", which is interesting since he had plenty of time for you.

And none of this is meant for YOU to take personally. We know how you arrange interviews, but people do their best work when there is some accountability-so heres some:)

Blah blah blah mikel. Don't you have a job to keep you busy? What's YOUR motivation and agenda for trolling the New Brunswick blogs and newssites?

I can ask the same of you. Too bad you don't have a little USEFUL 'blah blah blah'.

By the way, the name is at the top of the comment, feel free to ignore it and me, I really don't mind.

We must be realistic. I mean Charles can't even get the time straight. Most of us take him for what he is, you know mikel. I think your going beyound, STAY and SIT, is a bit pretensive! You think?

Asked you first but as are typical with your nonsensical tirades you avoid the question. Job? Or are you sponging off taxpayers?

Business? When would he have the time given all his trolling on the web. It's not just this site he's busy at. That's one heck of a business model.

mikel said...

Anybody who has been at this site for awhile already knows who I am, dude. The fact you don't just proves who the troll is.
And yes, I usually do ignore you, I suggest you do the same. Anybody who wants to read my comments can also go to virtually the only other blogs in the province-David Campbells and the CBC. Gotta go, I'm 'busy'.

Busy trolling and not payign taxes obviously. :p
