Welcome anywhere in Canada.

Welcoming a traitor to Canada. What a world we live in. Leave it to the university crowd.

A traitor... pfft hardly... leader of a party that's nearly useless to the rest of Canada is more like it. I would actually rather see the bloc Quebecois in charge over the current neocon hacks.. as bad as that would be..

Leave it to leftie pinkos like Barb to think Duceppe is some kind of hero. Charles has the Quebecois figured out.

Duceppe could give Quebec some credibility, but the hand in Canada's pocket has become Quebecs reason for being. Any respectability that Duceppe could give it, would be foreign to it now. Quebec is fading fast. Quebec and Marois and Parizeu are few of the respectable people in Quebec left.

Although I don't necessarily agree with his politics, I have to admire Gilles Duceppe. At least he doesn't equivocate.

And a lot of you Quebec haters would be surprised to know that Gilles Duceppe's grandfather was a British home child. That's about as English as you can get.

Read this article "Duceppe wants apology for British Home Children" - he's the only politician who had the guts to demand what the British Home Children have been asking for decades and you know he'll go to bat for them because it's personal.

British youngsters sent to work on farms

http://cnews.canoe.ca/CNEWS/Canada/2009/11/29/11970046-sun.html

They told them they were going to Canada on vacation.

It wasn't long, though, before Bloc Quebecois Leader Gilles Duceppe's grandfather John James Rowley learned the bitter truth. Like thousands of other British Home Children, he had been sent here as cheap labour for the farms of a growing nation.

Now, Duceppe is among those calling on the Canadian government to follow Australia's example and apologize to the 100,000 British Home Children like his grandfather, who were sent to Canada.

"What is so tough to say we apologize?" asked Duceppe, likening the treatment of the Home Children to slavery. "I hope they won't say that they didn't know what was happening for 100 years.".....

Just google "Gilles Duceppe" and "Home Children" and you'll find all kinds of interesting information about Gilles Duceppe's British roots.
