FREDERICTON - New Brunswick's auditor general is raising concerns about the province's growing net debt and a lack of explanation from the government on how it will rein in spending.

The net debt is expected to hit $9.6 billion by the end of March 2011, but Michael Ferguson says he expects it will reach $11 billion in subsequent years.

It is good to see that Minister Lamrock has taken time to explain/clarify/ give his thoughts on the issues as discussed. In the section titled..on the issue of Casual workers..how the hell can a MLA not understand that in increasing the "welfare" rate paid, it will not affect the increase in the clients rental rate? Has this really not been discussed? Has no advisor done their job in this very important overall net financial aspect? Has any serious thought been given this? It would be interesting hearing Dan Weston, Brian Duplessis's, and others thought on this. This should not be news, it should have been thought through carefully..it does not appear to be the case. Lets hope for a speedy update. Tax Payer John
