Yes, it's true. I took the bus from Moncton two weeks ago and one of the bus drivers said that Acadian is moving its terminal out of the downtown area. If it's anything like Fredericton, you can expect a 6 km drive and a ten dollar taxi fare to get to the g*d d**m bus terminal.

Well, that's just GREAT! I use the Acadian Bus Lines all the time to get to the North Shore so my way of getting back at those jerks for destroying inter-city passenger service from Fredericton to the North was to take the bus to Moncton, then hop on the train which will get me to my destination about 8:30 pm. Yes, I'd still have a few hours wait in Moncton, but I didn't want to give those b******s another red cent and if I'm going to spend money, I may as well buy myself a drink on the train!

Another part of the appeal was that the bus terminal was within walking distance of the train station. Now I'll have to take a GD taxi to the train station, adding more to my travel costs (on top of the 10 dollars it takes me to get to Fredericton's terminal at 85 Hubbard Road by taxi).

Acadian has basically doubled the cost of travel for people who don't have a vehicle. These shysters are getting away with bloody murder and nobody is doing anything about it.

I made an official complaint to the Energy and Utilities Board last year when they tried to move the bus station out of Fredericton'd downtown core but it all amounted to piffle. I didn't even bother to make a complaint this time, it's a waste of time. This company is so powerful - and the Energy and Utilities Board a rubber stamp machine - they can do whatever they please and to hell with New Brunswickers.

Since this is how a Quebec based company treats New Brunswickers, all I can say is god save us when it comes to NB Power. Perhaps it's time for all of us to get off the grid and find alternative sources of energy and give these guys the big middle finger because that's what they deserve.
