THE ROSARY HALL RESIDENCE IN FREDERICTON SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED BY THE NEW BRUNSWICK DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND THE FREDERICTON POLICE!!!

img_7007img_7009img_7011

Last summer, I heard the Rosary Hall Residence had a problem with Bed Bugs. I know a few people who lives in that Rooming House. I didn't bother blogging the issue.

img_7010

I haven't wrote of the issue of rights for people living in Rooming Houses around this Province.

I succeeded to have Bruce Fitch to introduce a Bill that would give some kind of protection to the less fortunate in New Brunswick. < There's over 20,000 >

Click below for story -

Roomers and Boarders have no rights

But since my arrest in Saint John and the day the New Brunswick Government decided to take a Fascist agenda against the less fortunate?

Well, this issue took center stage.

To give orders of beating up good standing members of the Liberal Party because he/she has different views on issues is pure Fascism.

Ok....never mind that!!!!

I learned a couple of days ago that an individual which I will call- Shawn!!!

Shawn rented a room at the Rosary Hall Residence. He was told they used to have a problem with Bed Bugs but the situation is safe now.

bedbugs

Shawn paid the $400.00 for a room. Shawn is allergic to Bed Bugs.

The next morning Shawn found out he got bitten during the night by a Bed Bug.

This is not Shawn leg. I found this one on the internet.

Bed Bug Bites

Shawn had to leave the Rosary Hall Residence immediately!!!!

Now!!!! This is the part that really got me angry!!!!

The owner of the place refuse to give Shawn his 400 bucks back!!!

Now the owner knows that roomers and boarders has no rights so Shawn was left on the street with nowhere to go.

He was broke!!!!

Sad sad sad!!!!!

Now? The owner of the Rosary Hall Residence never hired professionals to make sure the Bed Bugs were gone. I guess they hired a guy to spray here and there.

The owners asked Shawn if he wanted his stuff back? Shawn couldn't take his items with him because he was afraid they would be full of bed bugs.

If Roomers and Boarders had rights? Shawn would have gone to the Rentalman and the issue would have been resolved.

These people in these Rooming Houses cannot complain of the Bed Bugs because they will be evicted!!

Now? The Rosary Hall Residence offers people a place to stay for a long or short period.

img_7010

Will these people bring these Bed Bugs to other locations???

Scary stuff!!!

Well? Shawn should have gotten his 400 bucks after the first evening but he didn't!!!

This is pure stealing by the owner of the Rosary Hall Residence.

This issue will be bought up with the MLA'S of the need for rights for Boarders and Roomers.

As a matter of fact? I'm going to the Health Department today and put in a complaint.

Lets see what the bureaucrats will do with this issue???

Stay tuned!!!!

P.S. I noticed the Building has a Cross on top of the building.

img_7012

By the way, the owner is stealing from the less fortunate? They should remove the Cross....

:P

Maybe the Police can investigate this issue of stealing money from the less fortunate???

Ohhhh..one more thing!!

I don't know who the owner of the building is? But if I ever find out the people I know in that building are giving a difficult time because of this blog?

I WILL BE VERY UPSET!!!!

My friends living in that building has nothing to do with me writing this story.

I know all about these people that own rooming houses Charles. What they should really do is close this place down and clean it up, they should be made to get rid of all the old furniture and I'm sure it's old and dirty and replace it. There should also be a law against the landlords keeping the residence money. I feel bad for these people they have no rights. Come on people do something about this HUGE PROBLEM.

It's a good thing Charles that you take up the cause of the underdog. Maybe the Gleaner will hire you as their social affairs correspondent! :)

For thousands of years, the cross meant trouble!! So what you talking about? You see a cross, YOU RUN!!

You Might Have Bedbugs? You are not alone…

Health Canada reports that in recent years there has been an increase in the number of people experiencing bites from bed bugs throughout the country, including here in Montreal. The presence of bed bugs is not related to cleanliness. They can be found in homeless shelters as well as 5-star hotels. They cannot fly or jump and are therefore transported from one place to another through clothing bedding and even luggage.

Bed bugs are a nuisance but they don’t spread disease. However, like mosquito bites, the bites of bed bugs can cause redness, swelling and itchy bumps. Sometimes these bites occur in groups of 3 in a line. Bed bug bites most commonly occur on exposed areas of the body, including face, neck, hands, arms, lower legs or all over the body. Like mosquito bites, bed bug bites will generally go away by themselves, but scratching them may cause the skin to break

To the forth comment. Are you saying it's ok that bed bugs can feed off your body because they have to eat too. What about children, picture a small baby laying in it's crib being bitten all over his or her body, would you like to live there? Have a good look at the photo that was posted. Come on we both know something should be done about this.

Oh its whining time again, the analogy is boring. Or
Steam the world, I want to get off. The bugs are bitin in the loft. Say hire that mosquito ridding bunch out of Moncton and in 50 years and millions, almost success, but not quite, soon.

I think his point was that bedbugs doesn't mean a place is 'dirty', which is what most would assume from the story. Don't 'assume' a person is saying more than what they write.

Thanks for picking this up Charles, the website is still up at www.tenantsact.org. We were hoping the publicity would be enough to get the liberals to finally proclaim the law, its ironic that Graham says he will spend a billion more on social services, but still refuses to enact a law that his own party brought forward four years ago. To my mind this is FAR worse than the NBPower issue.

The owner of Rosary Hall is Eric Bolden. I got out of the bed-bug epidemic by moving out of Rosary before it reached my room. I can't explain the heeby-jeebies I had when I first heard, and it took me a while to get out of there. Mattresses and furniture are never changed, and rooms are not cleaned before tenants, and I would be interested to see what the annual turnover is in only ONE of those rooms. The rooms stink, and heating is at the mercy of "the boilers." I literally could see my own breath some mornings...I tried to use a foot-heater, and it blew the breaker for that portion of the building every time. It was freezing until the afternoon sun could come through the window. Accompanied, of course, by a cold draft from the outdated, non-NB-building code windows.

Rosary Hall boasts two services: A Boarding House (in general, the brick part of the building) and a Hostel (old house facing Churchill Row. Rosary Hall will rent the "hostel" rooms to monthly renters through the winter without telling them that, come spring, they will be told to move to the smaller, lesser, dirtier rooms (for the same price) in the brick part of the building to make way for the almighty daily-paying hostlers. Is that how you spell that? Ummm, what else. Oh yes, racist language and behaviour is alive and well, and will literally turn your stomach if you have no such tendencies. One of the staff told me "we try to keep the asians ("asians" was not the word used) on the basement level because they're dirty." Presently they have a foreign staff member, so I imagine that deflects people's vision of their bigotry.

I could go on and on. People will continue to find themselves in housing like this if/when hard times fall unless/until legislation changes. Keep screaming Charles! THANK YOU!!

...I don't know if the general public is aware of this too: If you spend more than a month at the men's or women's shelter, you are expected to pay monthly rent. 100 dollars if you're on basic assistance, 200 dollars if you're on disability assistance. If you are on disability, (590 dollars per month) the shelters will pressure you hard to move to a boarding house (the only rent deemed "affordable"). I spent 3 months in the shelter, then three boarding houses in a row. ALL of them deplorable. I'm one of the lucky ones who got out of all this, but I didn't leave stupid. If my life or my health takes another bad turn, I know what my options are. And it can truly make you cry at night and fear the future. Homelessness takes away your voice, your dignity. It leads to addiction, suicide, and so many people with mental disorders have nowhere to turn - they fall through the cracks and land on the streets. It's an epidemic, and I had NEVER been sorry to live in New Brunswick - until I experienced all this with my own eyes, body and soul. I am forever altered, and forever educated about the plight of the poor. ALL citizens should be educated about this, lest they or theirs end up there as well. And don't be cocky - life ain't picky about who it picks on!

There is plenty of money coming to this government allotted for those situations in transfer payments! The problem is the redirection to political friends for future convenience, by corrupt government.

Where is the MAIN STREAM media on these issues. This was a well known problem years ago. For all those who complain about Charles Blog think about that. ''equsapien" should write an investigative report on this place and the others and present it to the Daily Garbage and see if they will run it. I hate SLUM LORDS and worse those who protect them.

Oh!I just hate to hear that word bed bugs, I feel like they're on my nerves, ewwwwwwww!!! Their such a pesky pest, itchy and irritating. I guess this Rosary Hall Residence should think of closing their house for moment in order to kill those bed bugs than put other people to risk in health.

It's sad to see what's become of the old rosary hall. I lived in Fredericton in the 1960s and 1970 s and this place was a convent ( thus the cross) . I have some wonderful memories of visiting the sisters there when I went to st Dustan's school. Also, I remember the corner store being called bolden's. Is it the same person (or family member) who bought the former convent? Does he still own the store as well? This really takes me back to memory lane.

Is he the same bolden who owned the convenience store across the street? I lived in Freddy beach in the 60 s and 70 s and rosary hall was a convent. Some of the sisters taught at st Dunstan's school. It was a lovely place then. What a shame. The store was called bolden's then . Does he own that too?
