How come we can't have both Bernard Lord and Shawn Graham???

I've been around in the political arena long enough to know both of these guys.

Take a close look at Bernard Lord.

He really wasn't a bad dude. Either you hated his guts or you loved the guy.

Bernard wouldn't say something to your face that wasn't true. < Majority of the time >

I mean the guy is a politician.

The problem with Bernard? He had a problem communicating with the public.

I believe his problems began during his first term as Premier. Months after being elected Premier of New Brunswick, he was confronted by some very angry farmers in the Sussex area and he wasn't the same again.

I mean he wanted to let the public know that he was accessible to New Brunswickers and he really tried hard to work on his image.

But he would come out looking like a King.

L-King

I believe this was his downfall. On one occasion, I was alone with the former Premier and we chatted about this issue. I told the guy that he shouldn't be afraid to face protesters in front of the Legislature.

He should do like Frank Mckenna and the former Prime Minister of Britain John Major? These guys face the people head on therefore they were respected.

But he never took my advice now he's history.

Now we have Premier Shawn Graham.

This guy has a wonderful personality. He's one of those guys that you just cannot hate.

There were many questions about his leadership abilities months after he got nominated as leader of the Liberal Party.

I noticed that he was always supporting the Irving's agenda. I remember when I first met the guy face to face in Saint John.

I directly asked- Is it the Liberal Party or the Irving Party???

With a much better personality with the public, he won the last Provincial election and he was the new Premier of New Brunswick.

It was a tight race but his personality prevail.

To be Premier you must show some leadership and this is something I believe Shawn hasn't done since 2006.

There were big issues such as French Immersion, Uranium and the new propose tax reform.

The Premier took a beating and his term is only halfway done.

The odds are against totally against the Premier that he'll be re-elected because he doesn't show any leadership.

Yes, my issue of Fascism within our Police Force in New Brunswick is a very serious one.

The Premier went on record that he totally refuse to address my concern.

The Premier is really pushing the Irving agenda BIG TIME!!!

The Irvings in return promote the Premier in their so-call newspapers as a reward.

New Brunswickers are not stupid and I truly believe Shawn Graham will be history in 2010 < Especially after the new tax reform are announce in 2009 >

Yes, it's a darn shame we cannot have both Shawn Graham and Bernard Lord.

One that showed true leadership and the other with a great personality.

I guess this is what New Brunswick is all about?

Yes, it a darn shame

You not going to acknowledge the media results of the education changes, with a great increase in the test results of our school children,or are you still going to promote the disasterous destructive french immersion ???
Are you for the cpfers or are you for our kids.
I understand you hate kids, but most people don't.
Should Kelly run the education department for the kids or for the cpfers?

Charles, just so you know, just because you think something is true doesn't make it so. Bernard Lord actually got MORE votes in the last election than he did in the previous election (remember the one where public insurance almost cost him the election?)

Most people have no interaction with the premier and have no idea how 'friendly' they are-or aren't. More New Brunswickers voted for Bernard Lord than voted for Shawn Graham, the difference was the relative demise of the NDP party, and because the other two parties were so close it made a difference. It was simply a case that more disenfranchised NDPers voted liberal rather than conservative.

It could be true about 2010, however, can you actually remember a time in the last forty years when the government hasn't been run by an 'irving party'? Wasn't it you that had the quote that Richard Hatfield actually asked KC Irving if it was OK for him to run? The last government to 'go against' Irving was Louis Robichaud, who pretty much said that he wouldn't last another election thanks to Irving media.

Bernard Lord Leadership? Do you know how many millions of tax payers dollars that idiot wasted when he took the tolls of the highway. All for the sake of getting elected.

You really are out of touch Charles....think of how many people that money would have helped, dam shame.

That idiot campaign against the tolls.

He won and got rid of them.

Boy???? How time changes......Who would have believe that the day would come that I would come to the defense of Bernard Lord?

TAKE COVER QUICK!!!

THE END OF THE WORLD IS COMING!!!

Lord actually was a better Premier than Graham... I'm actually nostalgic for Bernard Lord (man, I never thought I would say that!)
