Imagine a bunch of francophones going to Fredericton by buses with signs "J'aime anglais". When pigs fly.

Why is the front of our legislature building filled with a bunch of Sopranoesk charicatures?

The suits and snide grins aren't helping their case.

I stopped counting at 500 and that was at 12:30pm. I didn't get everyone and many more came after 12:30. There were 300 on the buses alone (I talked to one of the drivers).

Suck it up racists!

French should be a choice and available to children who can and want to start early.

Also when a second language "French" is not possible for some because of limitations and learning disabilities they should also have a choice.

Bottom line should be to get the best possible education and it should be attainable and not a constant struggle at failing.

BILLIONS AND billions have been poured for years and we do have a problem with the French forcing.

This government doesnot really understand all people. We can't fit everyone in the same mould.

Living in NB or Canada doesnot mean we all have to speak French or take the language in all subjects. If people can that is great. For many learning all subjects in English (their language) has been a challenge. Don't force and demand and lose their education opportunity.

Not all people have the same level to learn and achieve that doesnot mean they are to be given up on or labelled stupid. Their is more to learn then just the French language; the world is so much more then that. Many go to other countries to be able to do their trade without being held hostage to the French language to get a good job.

Wake up parents! Oh yes I forgot it is for some all about their child only!

The best and brightest have gone, leaving these 189 pigs.

Ottawa also fed up with the whining french.

At a city committee meeting, francophone residents complained that the complex had Orléans played down in the building's name - the Bob MacQuarrie Recreation Complex-Orléans. Conversely, anglophones wanted to honour Bob MacQuarrie, a politician who had been a valuable representative of the east end. Also present were the late Mr. MacQuarrie's relatives who had to be horribly embarrassed by the whole debate. The controversy broke down along cultural and linguistic lines.

Font:****Gloucester-Southgate Councillor Diane Deans called the meeting one of the most difficult she has chaired, what with the heckling and cheering that ensued.

"It was not one of our finer moments. You could feel the tension just below the surface," Ms. Deans said in an interview. "Passions were very high on both sides of the issue. It was just unfortunate. It is not something I would want to repeat anytime soon. I couldn't see any good coming out of it."

This is not the Ottawa I have come to know. My Ottawa is one of accommodation and respect, an example for the rest of the country. This city benefits economically from the joining of two cultures - much more than any other part of this country.

I happen to be French; but can't understand NB is the only province that is put in this position.

French immersion maybe great for some children but no one should be forced.

It should be available for those that are able but remember not to lose a child in the educational system and fail them because of a language that is stands in their way.

Many languages are just possible for some. They deserve respect and should be able to get an education.
